Finding Love When You're SO Not Looking (and Why That's Usually How It Happens)

They say love finds you when you least expect it, and boy, did it find me. I was in the thick of it – work, the tail end of a crumbling marriage – my heart was the last thing on my mind. Then Michele walked into the office. It wasn’t some grand, sweeping romantic gesture; it was a simple ‘Hey, how are you doing? I am Michele,’ and just like that, everything shifted.

Isn’t it funny how life works? We spend so much time searching, planning, trying to control our destinies, especially in matters of the heart. We have our checklists, our ‘types,’ our timelines. But love? It laughs at our agendas. It slips in sideways, a quiet surprise on an ordinary day. It’s the unexpected connections that often shake us awake, reminding us of the sheer, messy, beautiful unpredictability of being human.

As the writer E.M. Forster put it, ‘Only connect!’ Because you never know where that connection will lead you. In my case, it led to a complete rewiring of my world. If you’re curious about how that rewiring happened, you’ll find plenty more stories in this book, “Bridging Eternity: Where Does Love Go.”
