I’ve always been a ‘simple pleasures’ kind of guy. Give me a boat, the open water, and good company, and I’m content. Then Michele came into my life and said, ‘We’re getting a Shar-Pei.’ If you’ve ever seen a Shar-Pei, you know they’re… unique. Wrinkles on wrinkles.  

Dogs have a way of shaking up your world. They demand attention, they leave muddy paw prints, and they have an uncanny ability to find the most inconvenient moment to need a walk. But they also bring this unfiltered joy, this ridiculous, boundless love that’s impossible to resist.  

As Roger Caras said, ‘Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.’ Riley, that wrinkly, stubborn, hilarious dog, taught me that. She taught me that sometimes, it’s the chaos that brings the greatest joy. And that love often comes in the most unexpected packages.
